
Rev. Evert Erling Tornfelt, 90, went to be with the Lord April 2, 2017 at his home in Redmond, WA. Born in Cleveland, OH on October 13, 1926 to Erling R. Tornfelt and Anna Marie (Tiderman) Tornfelt. He moved with his parents to Ely, MN, where he attended elementary school. Graduating from Ely Memorial High School in 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force. After WWII he attended Minnesota Bible College, University of Minnesota (champion springboard diver and swim team captain). Then worked for General Electric in the field of atomic energy in Richland, WA. There he met Margaret Moe of East Stanwood, WA. They married in 1952. Evert felt called to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ and with Margaret as supportive companion, he began ministry with the Assemblies of God fellowships. He worked for the U.S. government in various capacities in AK and WA. In 1994 he and Margaret retired in Anchorage, AK, moved to WA and have resided there until the time of his death. Evert is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Judy Ramos; son, Robert Tornfelt; and sister, Geraldine Tornfelt. A Memorial Service will be held at Redmond Assembly of God on Saturday, April 15 at 3:00 p.m.
