Diann G. “Sweets” Cecich (nee Benson), 78, of Crown Point, IN dies

Diann G. “Sweets” Cecich (nee Benson), 78, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018, at Franciscan St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point, IN.
Diann is survived by two sons; David (Elizabeth) Cecich and Steve (Kathleen) Cecich; six grandchildren: Shannon (Walter) Wieczorek, Kyle (Nicole) Cecich, Zachary (Caitlyn) Cecich, Zarah (Kevin) Fogler, Zane Cecich, and Katelyn (Fiancé John Greaney); one great-grandson, Kamden Cecich; and two brothers: Wayne (Arlene “Big A”) Benson and Warner (Darlene) Benson. She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Leona Benson, and her husband of 61 years, John Cecich.
Diann was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church of Crown Point, IN. She was a retired owner of Union Electronics in Beecher, IL, and Farm Lake Outpost in Ely, MN. Diann loved fishing, the great outdoors, cooking, gardening, and jigsaw puzzling, but there was nothing closer to her heart than the Church and her family. She led a life well lived; full of joy, happiness, and wonder. Diann led by example, always teaching friends and family that life is about grace, humility, humor, understanding, and love. We are eternally thankful for the time God shared her with us.
In accordance with Diann’s wishes, private services will be held.
