Glen “Scratch” Zorman, 61, of Ely, lived until Saturday, October 13, 2018. He spent his final days at home cared for by his loving wife, Lynn, his family, friends and faithful dog, Jani.
Glen was born in Ely on April 22, 1957, the seventh child of Art and Betty Ann (Tjader) Zorman. He was an Air Force veteran and spent most of his life in Ely. Glen lived a unique life after a serious car accident in 1982 should have taken him, but we were gifted with many extra years. He thoroughly enjoyed his friends from all over the country who always made a point to stop and visit.
Glen was blessed with luck and love when he met his best friend, Lynn, whom he married in 2013. Those were his happiest years. His many friends will remember NASCAR races, rides around the lake, the occasional cocktail, and of course, an exaggerated story. He will be greatly missed.
Glen is survived by his wife Lynn of Ely; mother Betty Ann of Ely; brothers: Sam (Marlene) of Winton, Dale (Patty) of Remer and Baudette, Jack (Nancy) of Ely; sister Donna of Tower; sons: Ken (Ashley) Larson of Chisholm, Michael Zorman of New York City, NY; stepchildren: Kelly Levine of Los Angeles, CA; Jonathon (Cate) Levine of Chicago, IL; Jessica Gantt (Harrison) of Eagan, MN; Max Gantt and Ben Gantt of Ely; grandchildren: Raven, Maddie, Hannah, Grayson and Gabriel whom he adored; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and his dog Jani.
He was preceded in death by his father Art; sister Peg Pohve; brothers Gene (Grouse), and Don (Herm); Niko the dog and Sasquatch the gutter cat.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Kerntz Funeral Home in Ely from 12:30-1:30 p.m. A binge of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
