Charlotte Mayranen, a long-time resident of Ely, passed away on September 20 at the age of 67.
Charlotte was born in Ely to Olga (Zgonc) and Matthew Levar on December 29, 1948. She went to school at Ely Memorial High School. After high school, she attended Vermillion Community College. She married Eric Mayranen on January 19, 1974 in Ely. She worked as a receptionist and dental assistant for Dr. Vanetta and later Dr. Scott Anderson until she retired in 2011. She was also a clerk and deputy clerk for the Town of Morse.
Charlotte loved spending time with her children and grandchildren at the lake. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, berry-picking, traveling, and going for pontoon boat rides around Burntside. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her father, Matthew Levar; father-in-law, Wilho Mayranen; and mother-in-law, Terttu Mayranen.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Eric Mayranen; mother, Olga Levar; brother, Matthew (Theresa) Levar of Jordan, MN; sister-in-law, Val (Kim) Hill of Gilbert, MN; children, Robert Mayranen, Janelle (Eric) Hart, and Keith Mayranen all of Ely; grandchildren, Gunnar Hart, Sabrah Hart, and Cooper Mayranen.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00-4:00 on Saturday, October 1 at Amici’s Event Center. Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
