Rosemary Helen (Rudman), Coombe 88, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2019, at Trinity Health Service in Farmington, MN, shortly after moving there from Edgewood Vista in Virginia, MN.
Rosemary was born on May 20, 1930, in Eveleth, MN, to Fred and Mary (Champa) Rudman. She graduated from Ely Memorial High School.
She lost her father at an early age, and the family moved to Ely when her mother remarried Marko Dusich. On August 23, 1952, she married Clinton D. Coombe in Ely. Rosemary worked at Zup’s Food Market and later as a secretary for various businesses over the years. They resided in Ely until moving to Virginia in 1973.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and choir, Ely Slovenian Choir, and a 50-year member of Woman’s Life. Rosemary loved socializing with friends and family through bowling league and tournaments, sewing club, ceramics, polka music, and family events. She was passionate about sports and attended the MN State Hockey Tournaments for over 40 years. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and saw them play in all three stadiums in Minnesota. She loved high school sports and attended events well into her eighties. She enjoyed traveling to Europe with the Slovenian Choir and later with family. She experienced many family trips to Hawaii, Florida, Colorado, and California. She was most proud of her family and there were many special memories created at the cabin on Burntside Lake each summer.
She is survived by children Cyndi (Steve) Hagen, Farmington, MN, Douglas (Deborah) Coombe, Aspen, CO and Brian (Cathy) Coombe, Ely, MN, step-brother, Lawrence Dusich, step-sister Mary Pendergast, half-brother Bernie Dusich, sister-in-law Renee Johnson, brother-in-laws Tom Coombe, and Mike Coombe.
Grandchildren, James (Krista) Hagen, Matthew Hagen, Ashley Coombe, Jennifer Coombe, step-grandchildren Kimberly Breimeier (Paul), Bridget Karasti, great-grandchildren Sam, Ingrid, Fred, step-great-grandchildren Caleb, Elijah and Calvin along with many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father Fred Rudman, mother Mary Dusich, stepfather Marko Dusich, husband Clinton D. Coombe, brother Fred Rudman, sister Marnie Snow, step brothers Mark Dusich and George Dusich.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia, MN with Fr. John Petrich as celebrant. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Landmark Funeral Home in Virginia.
