Dallas Eugene Geiger (80) of Ely, passed away Wednesday night, April 27, from a short, but brave battle with heart disease. He was at home surrounded by his wife and children.
Dallas was born on December 4, 1938 in Fostoria, Michigan. He met his wife Sharon (Prahl) in 1964 in Ely, while he was on a logging job. They started their family in Michigan and later moved back to Ely in 1991.
Dallas was an avid hunter and fisherman who developed a love for all animals. He enjoyed feeding the deer, fox, birds and chipmunks from his lakeside home. He was also very passionate about his woodworking business “Country Pine,” and loved working in his shop. Dallas was a very fun-loving man and told jokes right up to the end. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.
Dallas is survived by his wife Sharon of 53 years and his three children; sons: Darin and Kevin Geiger and daughter Candace (Jason) Weyrauch. The family will have a Celebration of Life gathering later this year.
